SPC just issued Tornado watch 513 until 2000 hrs local for southern WI, northern IL and eastern IA. Looks like some new cells starting to pop across eastern IA and there is some weak rotation in the linear storm(s) in south central WI.

This thread will cover initiation, coverage and storm behavior.

WOW! Two tornado-warned cells right next to each other in N Missouri. The southern and more western cell is showing some strong rotation. This could be a long day! Also a storm rapidly going up west of Emporia that could do something in a little bit.

I can't believe I'm even thinking about going out again, but I'm anxious to see what happens with that EMP cell as it progresses up the line. The cells near Trenton/Chillicothe area are huge. We can easily see the boundary from the office here. Lots of explosive convection. Wonder if the cells will actually remain isolated again tonight. We'll see.

Cell over Columbia county, WI has a nice rotation couplet...no ground truth reports from it yet, but wouldn't be surprised if there was a tornado on the ground.

Northern of those 2 tornado warned cells now in Davis County Iowa. I have family there, so if anyone hears anything please post. (I hope this was ok to post here). Tornado is near Pulaski and Bloomfield... I have family in Pulaski.

Storm west of EMP is now tor-warned. Looks to be tracking along and west of I-35.

Locations in the warning: Cottonwood Falls ... Elmdale ... Hymer ... Saffordville ... Strong City

Was out earlier in SE WI and now back in Rockford..(report later)
Now we have 2 Twarned cells in SW WI moving rapidly NE toward Stoughton WI again..
They are moving at 50- 60mph..no way to catch these from here even with that kind of motion and speed..Whats with the speed of these cells lately ?
Anyway SRV shows a decent couplet..and the VIL was showing very large hail earlier..(Ridott in NW L. earlier had 3" hailstones )
Still showing activity developing on radar in SE IA and with movement the way it is will stay here in RFD for the time being..hoping the area shifts eastward..
Had Torrential rainfall in Rockton IL earlier today and again in the RFD area on way back around 330p..

The second of those two tornado warned storms is now also passing through Pulaski. Also mentioned are Milton and Cantril... all towns I have family in. Davis and Van Buren counties.

Public reports a tornado 4 miles east of Auburn or 10 miles southwest of Topeka, KS moving northeast towards Topeka. May graze the east size of town.

The "tail-end Charlie" storm just north of Danville, IA is showing an incredible VIL of 86 and a high degree of organization. It will cross into Illinois between Keithburg and New Boston.

I wonder why the tornado warning was reduced to a severe thunderstorm warning on the cell north of EMP? Reports of a funnel cloud 4 min ago, and still signs of rotation (albeit weakened from 10-15 min ago). Cell in Chase County is looking very strong and on track toward EMP.

Edit: Looks like another tor. warning issued for northern Lyon County for that cell north of EMP.

TVS and spotter-confirmed tornado just outside of the KC area. ETVS showing up just south of there. De Soto, Bonner Springs, and Edwardsville are in the path of the storm.

Southeast side of Wichita metro area also being affected by apparent tornado!
