5/31/08 NOW: OK/KS/MO

Three areas on the storm now tornado warned. So one near Nelagoney, one north of Wynona, and the other to the NW (10 miles) of Wynona.

CU in the rest of Oklahoma has tamed down in spots, but seeing a bit more development in western OK along the border.

Watching Dewey/Custer Counties in OK now for something going on there. All the stuff in NE Oklahoma has weakend for now, but SE Kansas is starting to pick up the slack.

Edit - New well through the cap in southern Dewey County. Steve Miller is streaming live on the storm and it looks pretty explosive. Additional convection trying to get going in Childress County again.

The Cell in Custer County is looking impressive right now. Tops over 55K Feet, Vil is maxed out at 70 plus kg/m2 Also BV is showing stong rotation through all 4 levels - I exepect this to be tornado warned soon as an inflow notch is forming - Also based on current radar track prediction the mean motion is South East at 17 knots Heading towards Bridgeport in I40 in two hours.

Looks line OUN has extended the tornado watch to cover the area effected by the storms. So Custer, Caddo, Canadian, and Grady counties are added to it now.

Looks like inflow area is getting choked off a bit. Hail size is still way up there. Main area of interest is very close to Hydro right now. Storm has cycled around, and is starting to the inflow notch redeveloping.

i hope whoever saw those 2 "tornadoes" has pictures, because we were right there the whole time and never saw anything. we may have been too far under the meso to have seen the funnels, but we were watching for spinups on the ground and never saw anything suspicious (other than smoke from a grass fire, LAWL)

I would like to know the same thing Mike. I too was right there with you and never saw anything. Maybe it was non-stormtrackers so we may never know.

Just got off the phone with Steve Miller. He is just north of Lookeba (south of Bridgeport) looking NW at a large well defined wall cloud. He also says the structure and striations on the updraft are incredible and it is a very elctrically charged storm with tons of lightning and what he called "anvil zits" popping all over the underside of the anvil.

He is in contact with OUN as he seems to be the only chaser on this storm. Stll showing 3" hail and a very nice couplet heading SE right at him.

Storm merging getting well under way. Backside south of Weatherford has a slight hook with it. Nothing tight rotation wise, but that'll probably be the area to watch. Getting a lot of development just to the south of the storm that will complicate things a bit here. Hail in Weatherford is over 4" right now...trooper report.
