• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Well I figured I should start one of these as there appears to be an embedded supercell in the line in C MN right now over Southern Mille Lacs County. Also, some cells beginning to pop up a little south of that as well.

Should be interesting to see if anything can get out by itself a little bit over the next 3 or 4 hours.

Sitting in Cresco Iowa right now with Joel Wright getting some updated info. Liking the new PDS watch. The grunge we've been in all day is finally starting to break up and surface winds are picking up.

Dewpoints pushing the mid 70s out in central Iowa with surface winds still backed pretty nicely at near due south. A couple cells already firing up in Minnesota as Alex already pointed out.

We're gonna play the southern edge of the the watch where the best moisture and instability is juxtaposed with the better helicity values to the north.

With a few more hours of good heating ahead, this should be a damn good afternoon and evening...

Well, I guess we've got some tired folks, or perhaps those just trying to get to their target today - but for an armchair like me today, we'll try to keep this NOW thread going, and acknowledge the persistent sup (68 dbz / 69 VIL) near Scott City, Kansas now. Has show a couple of meso signatures through its life, but still seems fairly persistent.

Surface low in SE CO slowly but surely deepening and surface winds out ahead starting to back w/ time. Looks like some more treats in store today for those out on their chasecation; particularly hope our international friends are able to see some action today.

Can we add Arkansas and Missouri to this?

Tornado watch extending from Oklahoma northeast into Missouri, 2 very good looking storms in NW Arkansas that'll be pushing into Missouri showing some rotation within the storm.

That cell to the NE of Scott City KS looks to have some rotation in it. TVS signature just came up on the last couple of scans.

Edit:

Rotation seems to have backed off a little bit, even though TVS signature is still present.

Cell south of St. Cloud, MN is starting to get it's act together. Good mid-level rotation per KMPX radar.

Also...an enormous wall cloud near the grouind on JF Massicotte's streaming webcam. It is very close to the ground and must be at least 1/2 mile wide.

EDIT: There are several houses very close to this near-tornado. I hope the tornado sirens are wailing!!! (Maybe JF should start honking his horn like crazy to let these people know. There's a new business idea...mobile tornado warning network).
