Severe thunderstorms came through our area Wednesday late afternoon into evening with many reports of high winds, tree branches down. We chased from the back porch for several hours - and the storms were moving at 40 mph or so and were out to sea very quickly. Early Thursday morning, I drove to NH and saw evidence of a downburst on the Massachusetts, New Hampshire border on Rt. 3. Crews were out clearing debris from the highway and there were a significant amount of downed trees on either side of the highway in a small area.
