5/10/08 NOW: KS/OK/MO/AR

Wow what a supercell-fest but at these speeds it has to be hard to catch these cells...esp entering NW AR and the Ozarks..
The cell in Pushmataha county OK wasn't showing a hook but a good circulation couplet ! Being on the south end I would really watch this one..

The speed issue is ridiculous ... I've been skirting the north side of the core on what was the Neosho storm for two hours. I can't punch south without it booking east on me and I can't move east without the thing moving south. It's a really bizarre chase. About to give up on it - storm is really moving into the ozarks now.

Well what a disappointment here in Springfield. The storms hit the western edge of Greene County and took a nosedive southward. It got really dark and we had some heavy rain, but nothing that could be considered severe.

Wow, there is sure a lot to try and keep track of right now. The most interesting storms seem to be south of Little Rock with a possible tornado just SE of Wrightsville, AR. The storm in McCurtain county, OK is also showing decent rotation. Most of these storms are moving at at least 50mph! Stay safe out there!

Edit: The storm north of Little Rock looks pretty interesting as well. A tornado could be located about 4 miles north of Searcy, AR.

About time to add TN and MS to the thread heading--tor-warned cell that will pass north of Tunica in just under an hour has slowed to 25mph. Cells in Woodruff and Lonoke/Prairie Counties are still moving at 45-50 mph and may merge by the time the business end of the first cell arrives near Tunica.

Just drove through the Purdy, MO tornado damage path. There looked to be some homes with their roofs off and a van practically rolled into a ball off about 25 yds off the road. Also had pieces of houses falling on us on the north side of the storm but could never get on the right side due to the Ozarks and storm speed.

If the Lee County AR cell holds up, it will haul its circulation right across a zone that is rich in casinos on a busy Saturday night during the next half hour. I am assured those establishments have severe weather protocols, hopefully being enacted right now. Reflectivity has been showing two couplets within about 2.5 miles of each other fairly consistently, with the southern couplet looking stronger. As I type this, it looks like they are merging...

Edit: Updated warning cites "storm chasers reported a tornado 3 miles north of Marianna." I think this is the first time I've seen a tor-warning in the deep south mention chasers as sources rather than spotters or LEOs.

Edit 2: Cell appears to be cycling at an opportune time to miss the resorts--hope it can hold the circulation upstairs until it gets past the area...
