I'll start the NOW thread with the issuance of TOR box 113 for IL/WI

A quick look at current obs for the region show a cap in place, but possibly weakening from west to east. A quick look at the satellite shot in the region show a couple of wind shift lines over southern WI and northern IL that may serve as the focal point for storms to go up in front of the ongoing convection in IA/MO.

The watches are all in place now with the most aggressive wording/probabilities from south in the arklatex diminishing to almost the UP of Michigan. Multiple Svr T-Storms warned along the front, with radar TVS on a cell north of Ft. Smith, Arkansas. Gonna be a crazy day as these storms interact with better conditions further south in the jungle. Good luck and be safe to all those chasing today.

I have not looked at surface obs, but It's interesting if you look at a visible satellite loop it appears you can actually see the low level clouds starting to back towards the NW (SE Winds). I have never seen that on a visible before. Its amazing!

Especially over Arkansas!

Get ready!!!

Sitting in Jacksonville IL waiting for these storms to get their act together. Lots of little cells popping and dieing but things seem to be getting more together to the west...

MODS PLEASE ADD AR TO THREAD

Look at that beast of a supercell just NW of Conway, AR/NE of Russellville, AR. VERY STRONG LOW-LEVEL VELOCITY COUPLET. No official wording of tornado on ground, but thats one of the bigger supercells Ive seen all year even. LZK radar indicating 70+dBz but not sure if thats a few large hailstones or lots of little ones, those that have taken Radar Meteorology know what im talking about.

Tornado on the ground SW of Clinton AR

I talked to 911 Dispatch they reporting tornado on the ground SW of city.

Looks like Debris ball SW of Clinton.

Damage and injuries are being reported SW of Clinton via Sheriff.

Getting several reports of touchdowns in Howell,Shannon counties in southern Mo. from local meteoroligists/storm spotters.Terrain is way to rough to be chasing there so be careful if your out.

EDIT- There is now confirmed damage to houses along the storms path.

I'm pretty sure that is a significant tornado near Clinton, AR. It looks like it's going to pass just north of town though. The tornado cyclone extends over 20k feet up into that storm!

It looks like at least the center of Clinton is going to miss that impressive couplet/tornado......however I'd be far more worried about Scotland, AR from what I see on my previous scans/loop. Scotland may no longer be a partial ghost town.

Meanwhile, storm #2 down by Atkins is actually cycling up again after not looking so intense for a while. Areas from Damascus to Clinton will need to watch for this one, too.

It's felt positively tropial/Caribbean here all day - so I guess I should've guessed that today was going to be different from last Friday. Typical.

KP

EDIT: Local channels here now reporting damage/injuries in the Clinton area, and some entrapment issues on a road in Van Buren county.

NWS called earlier here, asking for any activity...couplet passed within three miles of my location, didn't see a thing. :( (animated radar image)
