• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

It was just announced a handful of minutes ago that next year's (2025) Summit will be in Overland Park, KS. They will be putting up links for hotel rooms and the like, but from what they're saying, it will be very similar as far as facility and amenities to what it was this past year in Fort Worth.

I'm very familiar the Marriott Overland Park. It is a nice hotel but its meal facilities are lacking. They have so-so breakfast buffet and no restaurant for lunch or dinner.

One mile to the east, on the same road, is the Sheraton Overland Park. In my opinion, it is a much nicer, full service hotel. You can usually get a room there for $156/night. Parking is free at both hotels.

So this is a different conference than the old one that Roger Hill used to run, correct? And yet somehow they still saw fit to hold it on Valentine’s Day weekend, just like the old one?!? What is it about that particular weekend that makes it seem ideal for a storm chasing conference?? I think it’s ridiculous that it couldn’t be a weekend before or after, or in another month like January.

My wife has no issue with me disappearing for a weeks-long chase vacation, but I’m not going to tell her I won’t be around on Valentine’s Day.

Any chance she’d go with?

Correct. Erik Fox runs this one and did a pretty good job last year.

The Valentines day thing is simple. Most of us don't have significant others or care and its a lot cheaper to rent a convention space that weekend.

For what its worth, last years summit was like Feb 2 or thereabouts.

This is is a very fun and informative conference. I've been the last couple of years. I also used to attend the previous conference in Denver. I highly recommend going to this one in Kansas. Here is a link to my Facebook gallery of images from last year's conference. It is set to public and should work for anyone on Facebook. I don't think there is a way for non Facebook people to see it.
