In a rather unexpected and impromptu chase today, I got my second-earliest-ever thundersnow around 1 p.m. at the summit of Wolf Creek Pass in Colorado. I was just running errands, but had my eye on an area of thunderstorms, with some mountain snow, that at first looked like it would stay in roadless wilderness, but backbuilt just enough to make it to Wolf Creek Pass. So I made a snap decision to head up, and I got there in time to catch some thundersnow. Here is my video:
