• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

2020-03-02 EVENT: AR/TN/MO/IL/KY

Pretty shocked to see the extent of damage and casualties. Having watched some of the preliminary videos before I went to bed last night, I hadn't gotten the impression it was quite that bad. :(

Davies is money as usual. You know I'd look for that later in the season down here. I'm in Tenn. Really I was a little surprised in early March. I'm all about subtle westerly over southwest slop, but I just faded it. When the KPAH cell weakened, it was off to ESPN for college basketball Big Monday.

In retrospect the advection of favorable parameters was forecastable. Soundings looked like great lapse rates but not much low-level CAPE. Forecast soundings had it but I get so skeptical of that. However action at the surface with the fronts hinted verification. SRH was never in question. I even texted to a buddy the KPAH cell is riding a boundary. It's like I saw it but I ignored it.

While that type of call is not part of my professional work, it still felt mighty odd to wake up to the sad news Super Tuesday.

I watxhed the suoercell produce the tornado. It was a lone cell and I'm guessing it was very strong, given it has one on hthe ground from Nashville to Gordonsville in Smith Co where we live. I was up and watching the radar. It was amazing to watch with a 25 dead final count its the deadliest tornado outbreak in Tennessee since the modern Era. Far surpassing the 2008 super Tuesday that I also witnessed. This the second time we had a march 2, 2012, but this one was much worse. The damage in Putnam is worst I've ever seen in Tennessee in my all years. Since my dad home just missed a direct hit by one lawn, I feel mighty lucky

March 2, 2012 tore up southeast Tennessee, but not really Middle Tenn. Still 2020 is obviously worse due to the loss of life. In both cases things lit up on an outflow boundary. Again 2020 March 2 really acted more like May with that relentless boundary rider on a somewhat (relative for season) subtle shortwave. However upper winds were ripping, per March.
