A coastal low is poised to bring the potential for significant snowfall to first the central Appalachians on Sunday, then even greater amounts in the deep south and Carolinas on Monday:

Snow forecasts range from 6" to nearly 12" in some areas around the Mid-Atlantic. Warm sector side looks good for this second wave to produce good totals in the DC region...especially east of the Beltway. Will need to keep and eye on the dry slot, but looks to be more of an issue to the eastern areas of the Carolinas.
