2/21/05 - NOW: Southern California

Atmosphere is becoming increasingly unstable with thunderstorms developing south of San Fransisco. Shear still looks good for severe thunderstorms later this afternoon for Southern California including Los Angeles, Orange, and San Diego counties. Hail looks likely in the storms and also cant rule out a few waterspouts/tornadoes. Any tornadoes that do form will most likely be weak and last no more than a few minutes.

A line of Cumulonimbus/Cumulus Congestus is offshore Orange County. These storms may have hail and possible waterspout/s, but are not visible from my location. May be leaving soon for farther north, around Huntington beach, which is where this will make landfall.
