On the webcam I posted, you could see the tornado impacting Union University!!!

The tornado must have come within 100 yards of the camera! That's absolutely rediculous! God help the people in Jackson, TN

I think the tornado just hit the webcam.

I could definitely make out a tornado as it got closer and closer (despite the low FPS), especially since the rotation and lowering seemed to touch the ground and tracked directly along the power flashes.

In one frame you could even see a piece of debris fly past.

This storm shows an absolutely amazing couplet, with no signs of weakening the last few scans.

I hope it continues to track to the northwest of Jackson.

Okay, that makes sense. It seems so unlikely to tune into a tower cam just as a tornado approaches, but it seems like that actually just happened. A tornado emergency has been issued for Jackson and they mentioned Union University (the tower cam I was looking at) on WMC-TV, saying that a tornado just affected University Road. Scary stuff.

There's a big shopping and restaurant district on the north side of Jackson that parallels I-40...hopefully it didn't get hit. If it did, things are going to be very bad

Yea I didn't think I was looking at the tornado either but this light looking tube (quite large) slowly drifted towards the camera and it didn't seem it was touching the ground, I thought there would be damage if it was a tornado but just after it passed the website went down..... Guess that was the tornado. Hope everyone is safe.

New tornado watch is going to be issued for Middle Tennessee, includes Nashville, possible PDS watch. Hopkinsville is currently being impacted by the storm that produced the 1st tornado back in Arlington, TN.

Wow.. what a late winter Spring like storm..numerous cells exhibiting rotation with some very impresive radar images.. squall line now racing through AR at 60mph behind supercells..so more wind damage to come. This really takes the attention away from the winter end of this by far.
Should be a long and dangerous nite..

I hear that people are trapped at Union University (Via wreg-tv) where the webcam 'was' located, this is very scary to hear. My prayers are with those people.

Major damage in Jackson. The Union University has many buildings with roofs off, nearby high school is heavily damaged, the Regional Hospital has major damage to roof, windows, and vehicles. Dozens of semis thrown off I-40 over a 11 mile stretch, many restaraunts have variable degrees of damage, as well as cars over-turned and thrown around. 120ft tall Oak Tree is down as well, along with power out to most of north Jackson.

What county and State are we talking about for the Jackson tornado (TN?). Also, there is a monster hook echo and supercell with strong rotation in Hardin County, TN right now. I would not be surprised if that storm is producing a large tornado right now.

New supercell, or old one that has recycled is starting to look impressive. No TOR yet, but it is heading toward Henderson. Radial Velocity is showing some gate-to-gate shear ramping up and there is a hook echo fairly evident.

I'm watching TWC where a viewer from Germantown sent in photos of some awesome mesocyclone structure. And the mall SE of Memphis is showing extensive damage!

These storms continue to fire and move into storm relative helicities of 700m2/s2 in some cases! It appears some CINH is starting to fill in with the daytime heating loss.

Madison County, TN.

The Hardin storm, on current track, will hit my home county(Rutherford), by about 830-930pm, very worried.
