12/31/10 NOW: MO, AR, IL, LA, MS

It looks as if the cell is occluding as it moves north of DGX. I caught a screen grab of BR and SRV as the cell approached the radar site.

It looks like the southern cell is even stronger than the northern cell on radar.

Christian,

I looked at the Weather Underground loop you provided and it was velocity. Generally, debris balls are seen in the reflectivity data when the solid debris provides very high reflectivity levels (i.e., 60+ dbZ). So, I switched to the lowest reflectivity tilt and didn't see any balls with the possible exception of the 5:45pm data. There was one suspicious area there.

The latest frame at 6:14pm Central also looks very suspicious with high reflectivity in the "arm" of the hook.

Franklin County and Lincoln County, MS now has a tornado warning on it. I would look out around the Smithdale area northward.

Its past midnight and still going. Tornadic storm with confirmed damage tracking just to the West of Weir, MS moving Northeast. Going to be anxious to hear what happened in the morning.

It has turned into a big mess now that it has made it to me here. Most of the impressive storms are well out in the GoM. We are under a tornado watch until 5:00 pm CT, but I don't see much happening onshore right now.
There is alot of flooding in N. Alabama this morning, and they are still getting socked with heavy rain.
