On 12/26-7, the national lightning strike map "strikestarus" showed extensive lightning all the way deep into Michigan as well as along the south shores of Lake Erie in Ohio.
Convective wind damage showed up in far N. IL, and I even saw a lightning strike on the map for deep into Southern Canada.
I am wondering if any of us storm lovers had experienced powerful convection while there was still a good carpet of snow on the ground?
