05/16/05 TALK: Central/High Plains

MD just now issued for W KS up into W SD. Hail and high winds appear to be the threat. Tony L. and Jon VanDeGrift are about to pull into Colby, KS - getting some data at the Best Western and then will be in good position to see anything that fires along the dryline along the CO/KS border.

Me I'm heading out in the morning for tomorrow's (hopefully) fun in western KS!

Jon Van de Grift and I are at the Days Inn in Colby, Kansas more or less in preparation for tomorrow's chase. Some CU fields up around us, but nothing of development yet... just working out some kinks in the equipment and prepared to head out just in case something goes up nearby.

Im around the James River in SD right now getting ready for tommorow. 1000 SBCAPE right now with some convection expected in next 1-2 hrs. A Cu field has developed just to my North. I don't expect anything more than 1" hail.
