It appears our convection is struggling with the warm eml. According to the mesoanalysis page the 700 temps are cooling some, and I hope this is real and this trend continues, otherwise we came out to see a bust.

Given the environment, the fact a storm tried to go up but was killed by the cap means it's constructed of heavy duty forged steel today down in Texas. I'd be on the lookout for after dark convection...but my confidence is waning quickly in anything significant getting going before sunset. I don't think anyone should be kicking themselves for going, cap busts do happen if you chase enough days. I took today off, but it wasn't because I didn't think the setup wasn't/isn't good, just the cap looked a bit intimidating.

Definitely wouldn't call it promising, but this cell does look somewhat better than the last one. I'm between I-20 and Palo Pinto.

Cell Survivor continuing near my abilene/graham/throcky original target triangle; the second one has managed to make it to SVR. Wish I were there, I'd be going across US 180 for an intercept if I could transport myself now that work's finished. Kinda hilly out there IIRC, so get some good shots before the sun goes down.

Looking at a radar loop, it appears the latest updraft is trying to latch onto the boundary/front. The 1st updraft developed in almost the same spot, but quickly moved ENE and died. This one seems to want to stay put a bit more, possibly it's a stronger updraft... I give it more of a chance to survive.

i am on 180 just after the junction o rt 4 and i can tell you that the cell is to the northwest. i can see a lot of inflow tails but nothing else under the base.
