Setting in Throckmorton watching an area to my ssw about 30 miles try and go up and getting stopped buy the strong cap . Betting on a watch soon.

Yep...been sitting in Cisco at the Alsups for some time now. Waiting, watching, monitoring and eating corn nuts. ;) I doubt SPC will pull the trigger on a watch until convection actually breaks out. Right now it is taking their sweet time. Hopefully this lull will end and we'll have a storm soon.

I'm on 222 headed to Throckmorton. SPC mesoanalysis page shows LFC continuing to go down around Abeline. I expect a storm to fire somewhere just north and east of there in the next 1-2 hours. With this area being under the exit region of a strong upper jet by 00Z I feel pretty good about storm initiation. The atmosphere down here looks and feels primed for tornadic supercells.

Moderate risk was dropped but MD is out for that area. Initiation expected in 1-2 hrs. If a storm can fire in that environment and stay on the warm side of the front, look out.

Making our way to Mineral Wells... At last, the sun is visible and we can actually see a bit of convective cloud now just south of Jacksboro. It's only a matter of time. I just hope we get enough daylight, both for development and for viewing!

A more organized cu field has formed around Albany and towers look to finally be getting through the cap. Looks like a loaded gun that's about to fire!

Heh! Or maybe not...that cell looks to be weakening just as fast as it developed!!

Can someone explain the ground clutter 12mi west of KDYX? It has been there all afternoon. Are there hills of something out there?

Looks like a new cell trying to go about a county to the west now...we'll see how it compares to the first one...
