Looks like it is all wrapped up on itself right now so this big and mean tornado may be getting to the point of occlusion very close to Greensburg...which means watch out on the eastern flank for the next bad boy potentially.
It should have missed Greensburg to the East by a mile or so.
AT 954 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE METEOROLOGISTS AND STORM SPOTTERS WERE TRACKING A LARGE AND EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TORNADO. THIS TORNADO WAS LOCATED NEAR GREENSBURG...MOVING NORTHEAST AT 30 MPH.
GREENSBURG HAS APPEARED TO HAVE TAKEN A DIRECT HIT FROM A VIOLENT TORNADO VIA EMS REPORTS.
THIS STORM HAS A HISTORY OF PRODUCING TORNADOES CAUSING SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE!
Now the NWS is saying that Greensburg took a direct hit by a violent tornado. That is not what KWCH was showing on their radar though. It should have just missed the populated part of town to the East. It may have brushed the East side, but NWS is claiming a direct hit. BTW I am getting this off KWCH.
