Looks like it is all wrapped up on itself right now so this big and mean tornado may be getting to the point of occlusion very close to Greensburg...which means watch out on the eastern flank for the next bad boy potentially.

The couplet looks as if it made a direct pass over Greensburg, about 2 miles east of US 183. Based on radar and map data...it appears that it may have passed over the eastern portion of town...over the airport.

Incredible cell.. Looks like Saint John is right in its path now. Seems to be the year for dangerous nighttime Tornadoes in KS this year.
The hook isn't as prominant now however but still shows up on BR 2 and still showing very strong velocities but not quite like before when we had 150g2g.

KWTV just showed a picture from one of their chasers who was on the Greensburg storm...large wedge and a report of "houses flattened along the highway". Have we heard anything from any of our guys?

I sure hope you're right Michael, but watching both GR 2 & 3, the animation sequence almost showed it suddenly take a NORTH turn as it was bearing down on Greensburg. I hope I'm misinterpreting the data - I pray I am! But it sure as crap looked like it took a north turn right at the WORST time!

major damage in Greensburg is pretty much confirm... they needed "all the help they could get".. Ford Co and Pratt Co have dispatched to Greensburg... DDC PD dispatched as well... it's bad.

Now the NWS is saying that Greensburg took a direct hit by a violent tornado. That is not what KWCH was showing on their radar though. It should have just missed the populated part of town to the East. It may have brushed the East side, but NWS is claiming a direct hit. BTW I am getting this off KWCH.

there is indeed damage in Greensburg... and given the dispatch requred from Ford, Pratt and neighboring counties... it's bad... indeed a direct hit with likely injuries... reports over the radio we get here in the office

Well towns and cities are marked by a tiny little dot. Depending on the size of the town/city it may be spread out radially a lot farther than the dot on the maps show. I hope everyone in Greensburg is okay. I'm sure there are going to be injuries but hopefully everyone is still alive.

Looks like the board is finally back up. I'm so sorry to hear of the situation in Greensburg. My thoughts and prayers are with those people. I hope and pray the chasers who are out on this cell tonight stay safe.

According to our client, KWCH, five counties are sending help to Greensburg and Kiowa Co. Pratt Regional Medical Center says several critical patients are enroute.

This was zoomed into to street level on KWCH where you could see the individual blocks going through town, so it was very detailed. I think as things become clear there will be damage to the far SE side of town, but it really didn't look like they took a direct hit.
