03/07/05 REPORT: Southeastern TX

Just got back in. Minor flooding in my area and some strong wind early in the afternoon. Reports of some penny size hail and strong wind in the Houston Metro area. Watched a very interesting stormcloud that featured mammatus clouds. This was unusual for such a weak looking storm.

Penny to quarter sized hail at my place. Great video of the hailstorm (intense!) but no firewire output on the antiquated device. Have a still pic, compressed version below.
.77" of rain with it in 15 minutes but biggest wind gust was 13mph. Heard of power outtages NE of me but nothing out in Katy as far as I have seen.

Would have posted this report more timely but thought I had no access to this area. I will do better next time.
