Youtube Embeding

I know there's a simple way to embed YT videos on threads (I see it every day), but I cannot remember the trick. I searched for the thread from way back that described how to do it, but came up empty. I tried doing the "" thing, but all I get with that is a blank white box (as you can see). Any assistance would be appreciated.

Shane, I am at work and have half of my life blocked on the net, but did you try this code?

"""<object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/PMJmqxl_eqM"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/PMJmqxl_eqM" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>"""

Just remove the 3 qoutation marks at the beginning and the end. I added them so that it would actually show the code without trying to embed it.

Shane, what you do is use the ?wmode=opaque" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen>

I had to try it a few times before I got it right. What you do is put the embed code from youtube between YOUTUBE in square brackets. Like this without the outer bars:

|YOUTUBE]<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/RjjJN_kHZNw&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/RjjJN_kHZNw&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>[/YOUTUBE|

Edit: Wes beat me to it but yes that's how it's done.

IMO if the code allowed the frame to be bigger people would actually use it in the report threads. Not sure why we can't just embed using the customizable YT embed code next to every video. The way it is now pretty much just serves as a thumbnail.

some sites have been able to switch to the [ media ] function to allow for more than just youtube (like vimeo). Not sure if TimV has even looked at that yet.
