I have multiple offsite backups on external drives for my video - one in Minnesota, one in Pennsylvania, and one here in Charleston at my house. My primary drive usually stays in my office downtown, but it also travels with me on trips. The home drive is the primary backup, a mirror of my office drive. I always get new hard drives in pairs, one is always the main backup that goes home and stays there.

Data loss is inevitable - you just have to be prepared. It will happen someday to everyone.
