You Could Be Streaming by Tomorrow!

I'm amazed by how many people saw that. I had it on to test a new camera and mounting idea and got two phone calls and your post. I'll bet I was running for :05 min!

Maybe we should have some awards? First Funnel, First Tornado, First Tornado Damage.... First to get pulled over by a cop and have video running... First to run a stop sign.. first to break the speed limit by >25 mph..... I only kid. :D

Lol, I had accidentally hit the link and yours loaded some picture and I had to look and see what you were doing.

I was gonna clock David yesterday but he wasn't staying connected well enough to do it when I thought he was zipping right along South bound and then a few times I thought he was gonna run up Steve's tail pipe for a first (caught red handed in a rear end collision). LMAO

I have my camera zoomed just a little to get the edge of the dash out of the pic. So things in the video may appear closer than they are. ;)

I just chase like I do any other time and drive the same way. It's like TV...something is bound to happen that will be embarrassing sooner or later.

Its all good, as long as you have a tornado on the screen for us when it happens we may not really notice the rear ending...... at least as long as you point the camera right at the tornado for a while after you smack him anyway ....

The only time it really bothered me yesterday was when one of you (Steve I think) aimed the camera to the left to bring the cell into view. I couldn't see where the hell I was going for a while and got rather car sick.... :D

I did that. I figured people would rather see the storm than the road whenever possible. I wouldn't mind more feedback on that...is it better to leave it straight that turn it over to the storm?

I love the fact that you show us chasers at home what is going on in the storm. Shoot, I can look at blacktop here in Albany. Keep up the good work and adjusting the camera to show the good stuff!!

I think at the storm is good as long as there is still a way to get it into view.

One thing I did notice with Steve I think it was (and would be a good reminder to anyone running video) was the reflection of a white bar or something like that and this really affects the picture / viewing of the video. If you can either paint or cover anything like that which is part of your mounting equipment or on your dash or keep any maps or paper out of the way of reflecting it would really help.

Other than that just noticing if the camera is in a spot where the rain isn't getting wiped out of the way very good or something similar is probably doing all you can. This will also help your focus stay better fixed if you don't have a manual focus option.

And by all means remember all of us at home if you park to watch a tornado and you are out filming....... reach in and turn it a bit if you can before it leaves the side of the screen.... LOL I can already see people leaning forward and trying to look around their monitor out of instinct if this happens . hehe
