WTB: DSLR

Alright, here's my problem: My dad has an old Canon F-1 (manufactured 1978) that shoots on 35mm. I'm looking at getting him a DSLR so we can move him into the future for Christmas.
Does anyone have a camera for sale or know of someone that does? I'm not looking to drop $2000 on this. Something for a couple hundred is preferred. I know how much chasers baby their equipment so I thought I'd ask here first.

I bought a Nikon D40 this summer for around $400 (came with lens, viewing software and all other basic necessary items). Works pretty well for my amateur storm chasing photography needs. By the way, I bought it straight from Nikon. So unless you're really wanting to save money, you can probably just do the same.

I have a Canon XSi body with 7500 shots on it paired with a Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS Lens I'll let go for $500. Everything is in excellent condition. All you will need is a quality, fast SD card and you're ready to shoot.
I've been thinking about selling this for a while; just happened on this thread and wanted to float it out there. This is a firm price.

I you want something cheaper...I wasn't too far from getting ready to buy a new cam, so I'd sell the Canon XT I've got. It does need cleaning (I get spots on my pics from time to time), and the lens (28-80mm) I'd sell with it has the threads a little section missing, but still is fine for filters and such (I keep a polarizer on there all the time.

Not having check the typical price on one yet....I'd think that couple hundred neighborhood is where I'd be.

if you don't end up having any luck here, I'd suggest checking craigslist, I've seen some killer deals recently on there. just an idea.
