72.5 inches of the white stuff as of that date. I'm just happy I am spending most of the winter farther north (Twin Cities, MN area) where we have less snow! My Dad's 25 year old antique snowblower is on life support so if we get a big snowfall up here I may be shoveling.

Careful with that shoveling! My co-worker just had a heart attack yesterday evening while shoveling snow. Obviously, this Winter is having a real human toll-especially in those areas that aren't use to it. In this particular area, we have had about average amounts of cold & snow(which just means that is has been it's normal crappy Michigan Winter) but what seems lacking is any signficant thaws..just not squeezing in ANY mild days. This week has been about as bad as any with dangerous driving conditions every single day. In any case, I see hope in the long range that Spring will indeed arrive on time this year..I think!

This was the 5th snowiest winter for Des Moines. Des Moines had 61-63" of snow or around there and the record is 72".

Winter is still not over yet. A snowstorm is hitting New Mexico with 2-6" of snow expected. New Mexico has had several snow storms already this year. Has that state broke any records?
