I am getting ready to install windows 7 and for the upcoming season but worry about compatibility!

Has anyone checked to see if the Delorme serial emulator will work with the 32 bit windows 7?
How about Threat net, GRLevel 3, or any of the other programs? I do not want to upgrade from XP to Windows 7 on my chase laptop if it wont work.

My XP still works!

My general rule of thumb is if it isn't broke don't fix it. However I upgraded my desktop and laptop to Windows 7 64 and 32 bit respectively and can confirm that GRLevel 3 and WeatherScope work for both of these versions.

All GRLevelx programs will work. I have them all running under Win7 x64.

Good day all,

The Delorme SA program, GRLevelX programs, and USB GPS drivers all work fine under the 32 and 64 bit Windows 7.

The SERIAL EMULATOR for Delorme does NOT work under 64 bit Vista nor Windows 7 64 bit. 32 bits should be OK.

Thanks Chris... I do not want to loose my serial emulator!

Randy, do yourself a favor and buy one of these:
http://www.amazon.com/GlobalSat-BU-...2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1264548224&sr=8-2

then get GPSGate.

I had that emulator and delorme puck for years and once I got the above setup I kicked myself for a week for not switching sooner. I fought with the Delorme setup all the time and I never fight with the above setup. Flawless on Win7 32x as well.

I love the Delorme mapping software but they can shove those proprietary gps receivers.

Thanks David,
I will try it. 2 more months and you will see me driving around in your neck of the woods!

Cool. Just be sure to send me the caprock chasing fee before you get here.

It's in the mail now, I put it there just the just the other day.. I hope your using the fee money to build a better road network! Or to let Delorme know that forestry roads are not the same as paved roads and should be a different damn color on the map!

Randy,et al...

I am going through the conversion to Windows 7 and so far have had no problems loading most of my old software which includes:

GRL2AE
GRL3
RealEmwin (am I the only person that uses this?)
UIView (APRS program)
Adobe CS4
Adobe Lightroom2
Adobe Acrobat 8
StreetAtlas 2007 (going to replace with the recommended MS S&T)
Windows Office 2003
and several other programs not of general interest to the Stormtrack forum.

BTW... I love Windows 7...

This is on a 32 bit Desktop that does not have the GPS programs installed (GPSGate). I have everything working on my older laptop and will not make the move until it dies.

I do have problems with a OLD StreetAtlas program (SA8) that I prefer over the newer versions, but it has grown long in tooth since the map data is over ten years old. the reason I am making the move to S&T. I detest the new SA interface.

Delorme emulator works fine for me in Windows 7 32bit along with GRL2A,GRL3, Spotter network, GPSGate, and Echolink. Haven't had any issues with any software yet.
