WeatherStudio Released!

For the bugs and a early release the price is a bit steep even with the current introductory offer. The short trial sort of stinks when it's off season.

Also where is the data coming from? I wouldn't mind using my Alison house level 2 data for local radar sites.

Don't give up on it though, it looks very promising. But I do have a few suggestions if your interested. Heck you may already have them implemented but I can't easily find them.

Paul,
installed it and have had nothing but trouble with it. First, the screen on the left just flickers at me and won't let me select anything. I can highlight them I think (kinda hard to tell with it flickering like that)

I have the same flickering of the menu on the left as well. Unable to
use the program to any extent like this.

Right now it is not worth the cost. Some more degugging is needed
before it worth the bucks he is asking.

Good idea, but don't let it off the chain to soon!

Tim

I'll be aggregating bug reports and fixing them. After I give that process a few weeks, there's a good chance I might reset the security system so you'll be able to redownload and evaluate again.

Thanks for the feedback guys - I wish I had more time to test before other events forced me to rush a release.

I'm interested in any suggestions you may have.

Rushing a release without working all the bugs out would be the worst thing you could do if you want this software to be a success.

Paul the software is great and in it's own class for functions. Don't dare give up on it after giving us a taste of what's in store. I'll shoot you a email here in a few days of what I noticed for improvements.

looks like this will be amazing software once the bugs get worked out. Definitely better than Storm Predator or GRLevel3 by far.

Nice job and keep up the good work.

How can you compare this to GR3 or Storm Predator? I mean, this contains radar, but nothing to the level that the GR products suite brings to the table. The software is multipurpose and could be a great re-broadcast solution for people in the web business, but I would say that there should be a way to remove the Weather Studio watermark and an allowance for one of your own.

I will put it in. I'm looking for these types of suggestions!

And what radar functionality does GR3 have that this doesn't? I'd be interested in looking into that as well, but this does contain the standard nine radar products.

It looks cool, but to me not for chasing. Might be something great to have and play around with when at home though. For chasing I just need the basics in plain and easy viewing fashion. I will stick with Gr3 for that but once the bugs are worked out and I can spare the cash - this would make a fun program to have at home.

I just tried it out on my wee little tablet and it seems to work, though I get an error of some sort at the beginning. When I continue the application it almost works as it should.

The overlay on the left has some serious issues with staying with the application, and actually stays visible on top of any other window that might have focus. It's even still interactive so I can't click on any content that might be live in the window beneath. Perhaps create an option to hide that so I can have more space to view things?

I think some more features need to be added to really compete with the likes of GRL3 or even WeatherScope, particularly since WeatherScope will run on a Mac.
