Weather stations

I currently have a small wireless station, a LaCrosse WS-7394U-IT. It gives me the outside and inside temps, humidity, barometric pressure and pressure history. But I am wanting to upgrade so that I can get the wind speed and direction. I also want it to be wireless and allow me to pull the data. I want to be mindful of price and I have no problems with going with used if I can find one. Can anyone recommend any particular station?

Catina,

This question has been covered several times in the past, but the "search" function has been disabled on the board until some technical issues are worked out. When that feature is enabled again, doing a search for weather station recommendations will give you probably more reading than you care to enjoy. You can consider that option for later.

In the meantime, there are several quality instruments that keep getting mentioned. I personally have a Davis Vantage Pro 2 (wireless) that I have been extremely pleased with for the past three years. www.davisnet.com should get you to their web page. If you find a model that suits your needs, obviously eBay would be a place to look, but be cautious of the sellers reputation.

I imagine a few other folks will offer more ideas shortly.

I have owned the wireless Vantage Pro and Vantage Pro II and would recommend them. They are configurable to you taste and how much you want to spend. The system seems to provide good accuracy for the cost.

I have purchased both them through www.proadvantage.com and felt they were reputible and I got a fair price.

Only cons I might have is if you want to archive data you need to purchase in addition their data logger w/software.
