• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

TWC is becoming like MTV (aka lack of Music videos and weather information) Next they will have reality tv shows :/

This is what I'm picturing.

And if we're already there and this stuff exists, I'll have to claim that I really don't keep up with what's on TV.

"Can chasers with various backgrounds live in the same space and just what will happen next?"

Big Brother: Chaser Edition

Survivor: Storm Chasers -- a group of chasers try to survive smelly days and nights on a feedlot in rural Kansas.

The Biggest Loser: Chasers -- a competition of weight loss from eating nothing but "food" available at gas stations. Enjoy finding some high-fiber foods!

"Fear Factor: Chasers" -- roll through puddles of standing water from weeks-old rains, munch down on some of the nastiest gas-station food available, and dodge ice chunks sent from tennis ball launchers.

The Amazing Race: Storm Chasers -- make your way to some of the most infamous destinations and sites on the Plains with only $200, no vehicle, and no cell phone.

Wow, the Photoshop possibilities for this are endless.

I've already been gearing up for the new movie I'm in on the weather channel. It's called Gardening gone bad. I join a gardening club and were invited on the weather channel during a tornado outbreak to give our gardening tips. I accidentally interfere with Al Roker while he's giving his morning forecast and we get into a fight. I eventually win, but not until Jim Cantore comes in and breaks us up due to a tornado warning near Amarillo. Unfortunately, the warning never goes out due to the gardening tips and the fight. Here I am after training to be on the movie.

HAHA The Squirminater...Tornado Eradicater......starring Jason Boggs! LOL!!
It will be a cult classic!!

As much as I'm not a major league fan of Accu Weather, I now think they would've been a better fit for TWC than NBC ever thought of being. The first time TWC starts showing the movie "An Inconvenient Truth", I'm blocking them out permanently. From then on, I'll watch local TV, websurf, and listen to NOAA Weather Radio for weather information.

It's just a shame to see TWC go this route. I am not getting too bent out of shape about it because I rarely watch it anyway.Thank God for the internet.

I wish it is was more like it used to be. I do wonder what Jim Cantore or Dr. Lyons and Forbes think of the trend but you probably won't find that out unless they leave. I too thought that since it was covering Vortex 2 it might be going down the right track but apparently not. I turned it on a couple week ago and it was just like GMA. Again the execs are trying to reach the mainstream audience not the guys like us on here..thats why they have the Storm chase show now..
oh well it will be interesting to see how its ratings do and if it morphs again into something else.

MTV doesn't play music videos anymore.
History doesn't air historical programming anymore.
TLC doesn't air educational programming anymore.
Discovery doesn't air scientific programming anymore.
The Weather Channel doesn't air weather information anymore.
Cartoon Network doesn't even show cartoons anymore.

How the heck does this work?!

Stormtrack isn't just for chasers anymore, etc... Things change, and I guess we have to deal with it.

At least ESPN has stayed largely unchanged through the years. They did the right thing and expanded to about 6 different versions (LOL) and kept the original largely the same.

Very proper point. What are they adding to get viewers? Movies?!?

Yea, the only person that these movies will help out is Orville Redenbacher.

"ESPN 8/"The Ocho" Bringing you the finest in seldom seen sports from around the globe since 1999. If it's almost a sport we've got it here."

Oh wait, should that be in the movies quotes thread?

I really wonder what Dr. Forbes and Dr. Lyons think about all this. Are they ashamed to see the potential for public awareness of weather be diluted as it has been over the past 10 years by programming changes, do they get more time for research and forecasting since they are not on air as much, or are they compensated to such a high degree it really doesn't matter?
