Verizon usb modems

I am thinking about getting a used Verizon Wireless usb modem for data on ebay and need suggestions on what model to get. I need the modem to work with windows vista and also have an external antenna port. Any input would be greatly appreciated-Thanks!

I know of a few people using the usb device for verizon with iffy results. I have an older PC 5750 pcmcia card that has an external antenna plug that works quite well. If you have a pc card slot that would allow you to free up a usb port for gps, video capture devices, etc.

Novatel Wireless USB727. It is amazingly awesome.

The UM-150 has served me well. I believe it is made by Pantech. It has an external antenna port and will work with a Cradlepoint router if you don't want to use the crappy Verizon VZ Navigator software.

I think I may get the Novatel usb727 if I continue to have problems with my connection occasionally dropping when I tether through my phone. I am fairly sure that the delorme serial emulator was causing the problem so I recently bought a new GlobalSat BU-353 gps, and going to install x port serial com splitter and give it a try.
