Verizon Problems?

Am I the only one having this problem? I have been trying to pay my bill online with Verizon. The site is OK, until you login and try to pay the bill. The pages take so long to load that my login times out and I have to start over.

So I've tried calling Verizon. The wait times are ridiculous. That tells me that others might be having the same problem. I asked a couple of friends here, one does auto-debit and the other pays via mail, so I thought I'd ask here. If the problem is on their end, I'm not going to work my butt off trying to give them money. But if I'm the only one having this trouble I'm going to get to the bottom of it ASAP.

BTW, it's for a data card, I can't do the *611 to pay.

It's been slow loading the MyVerizon for awhile. I just tried and it loaded pretty fast, so maybe they fixed something. BTW, I was just looking at the coverage map, and am happy to see that the TX Panhandle is now pretty much all covered, along with NE, KS, MO, and the Dakotas. The holes in northwest OK, south-central TX, and MT are still there but are being whittled away.

Well, I was able to go online and pay with no problems on Internet Explorer. But Google Chrome and Firefox will not load fast enough to do anything. I just never use Explorer, and in the past I never had browser compatibility issues with either Chrome or Firefox.

Thanks for the replies.

sure thing, I'm an FF user 100% of the time, but will use IE for website compatibility.

Are you happy with VZW's broadband usb stick? (or pcmcia device)?

How responsive is it?

I'm very happy with the service. I have the UM-150 USB stick and have used it for two years out in the plains chasing and of course, there are some dead spots but for the most part it does OK.

I always had my internet go out between Liberal and Garden City on 83 but looking at the updated map it looks like they have filled in the gaps. NW Oklahoma is a dead spot. But otherwise I've had good luck. I've not used it in Iowa or the Dakotas since I've not been to those areas yet.

The external antenna has made a world of difference for me. Sometimes it's the difference to continuous disconnections and a steady signal. I'm going to get a Cyfire amp before May to make it even better. I got a Cradlepoint router for Christmas that has made it easier to use and seems to make it a bit faster.

I just noticed that Verizon's overage fee has gone down from .25/mb to .05/mb. That will definitely make it much cheaper to go over the limit this spring.

Thats good to know. I have VZW for cell and thought about 'tethering' it to my laptop but have not tried to setup that up yet. I kinda think that a dedicated device would give a little more peace of mind over tethering. On top of that I doubt I could get an external antenna that way.

Thanks!

Their G3 network went down for a while last night, at least it did here anyway. Had a red light on my G3 modem and thought it was bad, but got the same indication when I plugged one of the other ones in (I have three).

I washed my phone so I had to upgrade or down grade to a verizon phone.I have always had Mycast weather app on my phones, with Alltel it just used the miniutes on your plan. Now with verizon they charge you for the data you use so if you don't have a data plan you are screwed.I use 21mb last month and it was 41 dollars and if you have a data plan it is 9.99 for 24mb or 75mb for 20 bucks. So if I want Mycast it will cost me 14 bucks a month for Mycast is it worth it I don't think so.

I had no problems, I make my payments via by my phone with a card I have on file. I find Verizon to be the best, coverage is great, broadband is just as great, especially in MN, IA, NE & Coverage is expanding. I like their tech support, never had any problems with asking them with questions. I have been using the PC5740 card (old-had it for a few years).

I Have VZW and have been tethering from my cell. This means I use it as a 'feature' and can remove it and add it as often as I want. This keeps costs way down.
The only downside of this set up is I have to disconn. from the laptop to make a call. I can receive calls though while connected.
The connection is generally fair to good and depends on where you are.. Here in N.IL,S.WI and EC Iowa its worked pretty good but may be better if I used a dedicated Aircard possibly. In any event it works for me well enough when I chase for the most part usually using grlevel3 when mobile.
