I currently use a RAM no-drill laptop mount that is specific to my vehicle and am extremely satisfied with it. Next year the 2 folks I chase with are looking heavily at renting a vehicle instead of using my personal vehicle. The challenge with this is that since you cannot reserve a specific vehicle, we are looking at the necessity of having to transition to a universal laptop mount. I've gotten some feedback from a couple of local folks on their experience, but looking for more. I'm specifically looking for feedback from those of you that have personally used a RAM Universal No Drill mount? I am specifically looking at the model that has the 3 legs that require being bent into position. The install looks like a piece of cake, but I am concerned about how stable it is. I'd appreciate any input the members here have had with it. Thanks in advance!

i had one from ebay that worked ok initially, and then it all fell apart on me so i ditched it and bought a RAM mount.

my suggestion though custom make your own quick release base if possible. Find a thick L shaped bracket with a big enough hole in to that you could take a socket ratchet and a ratchet (9/16" i think on most cars/trucks) or a 9/16" wrench and you loosen two seat bolts remove one of the nuts, slide the L-bracket on and tighten everything back down. it only takes a few minutes. make yourself a quick release portion so you can detach the pole and laptop mount without having to unscrew the seats every time.

here's a few things that might help

make something like this, you don't have to specifically buy this one, this is just an example.
