Tropopause folding?

I wanted to first ask some of the more seasoned meteorolgists on here their thoughts and what this is exactly and what it means in both an operational sense and from a severe weather sense?
 
That's really not something that can be answered in a paragraph... You'll likely want a met textbook to get an explanation of value.
