Thundersnow and a Winter Wonderland, Pagosa Springs, CO 3/8-9/2013

Had thundersnow for about 20 minutes the afternoon of Friday, March 8. That thunderstorm and an even heavier wave of snow that followed (but with only one rumble of thunder in the second wave of snow) dumped about 3 inches in 2 hours and 45 minutes. Then overnight we got another 3 inches, for a storm total of 6. Because the snow was heavy and wet and because it was convective in nature, it stuck to trees, wires, chain-link fences, basically anything above the ground, creating a real winter wonderland.
