I was in Lausanne, Switzerland last week. It was a business trip for a conference, and I took my wife along, tacking on a couple vacation days before and after. The conference included a boat trip on Lake Leman (more commonly known as Lake Geneva), and I got this special treat of watching an approaching thunderstorm from the stern of the boat, a particularly welcome diversion from the soul-crushing small-talk of conference networking. I’m sure my fellow storm chasers can identify with the peace and comfort that ironically can be found by escaping anxiety in the chaos of a storm. I saw only one CG in the distance. The storm hit Montreaux just after we docked there and headed to our restaurant; I saw some lightning flashes and heard some thunder, but wasn’t able to get to a window for a closer look.
