Storm Chasing Vehicles and Weather Stations

Ok, I have the pics of the weather station and even basic instructions to assemble it, but Im having issues posting pics.. I never have been good at that. Can anyone help or would it be easier to post them to my Photobucket and post the link?
I don't know about photo bucket I know that you can down load them to your computer and save them. then when you want to send it to this thread. if there is a icon saying insert image. and you have to find it and upload it other then if it don't work then I am not sure. I have not up loaded any pics yet. I would like to build a mobile weather station but having trouble where should I get one or get the parts. davis told me that they don't recommended to keep it on your vehicle while driving down the road. if you do have any pics. or instructions for a basic you can send them to my email. which is [email protected]

Wow, this is a really old thread that's been resurrected, but I'll offer a few thoughts since it's been 7 years since my last post on it.

I would advise against any long-term vehicle mounting of consumer-grade instruments like a Davis or OS. It's really just throwing money away because they are just too flimsy to stand up to all of the highway driving and hail encounters. You'll break or wear out the bearings of the anemometer and wind vane every season if you chase regularly. The Inspeed is much more robust and will last longer, but it will still wear out with a lot of highway driving.

Instead I'd probably make something easily removable that could be mounted quickly at the start of a chase, that way you minimize the wear and tear.

If you can afford it, consider something with an ultrasonic anemometer that has no moving parts. That's the only thing I personally would consider doing myself if I was inclined to collect mobile data again.
