Spotter Network App On Droid

Mike, I hate to be a PITA but it still drops my ID when I close the program. But what I have done is save it in my Auto-Correct so I don't have to type it in.

But I'm having another problem. Sometimes it updates my position, other times it just says 'updating' for a long time, even when I have good strong 3g and GPS fix. I don't know what that might be, if it's my end, SN itself, or the software. But it happens right here at my house both ways, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. As simple as the interface is, I don't know what I could be doing wrong.

I love the app and really appreciate you answering questions on here. That's more than I expect for less than 5 bucks. Once I get this figured out, it will be awesome to have.

you can save the Spotter ID in the preferences menu, Just hit the menu button on your phone when your in the app then the next time you load it all you have to do is hit load id then start sending

That is where I'm saving it Mike. I'm thinking there might be a security setting somewhere in the OS that is preventing it from saving. I'm digging around, and will let you know if I find what it is.

Please let me know as I do not know of anybody else experiencing this problem what version of android are you running and on What hardware.

I have a HTC Eris with Firmware version 2.1, Build number 2.37-8a03cb9a

I've got it on right now and I'm not showing an icon on SN. I should be at 35.617, -85.878 but I'm not there. The top blank says Please Load Spotter ID, but it does show in the blank when I press menu and go to the Preferences and open the box for Spotter ID. I've double, triple, quadruple checked to make sure it is the right number.

Just now I manually entered my number in the blank on the main page and it worked. It's just not storing properly. What makes it such a PITA is that I have to keep that screen active, this won't run in the background on my phone. If I hit the home button, answer a call, or do anything else I have to reopen and reenter.

I hope that everyone reading this realizes that this is an issue only I'm having, it's not a reflection on Mike's work. The fact Mike has been so helpful should say more than the fact I'm having a problem with mine. :)

Edit: Here's something that I just noticed: When I run this app, after a while my phone spontaneously reboots. I wonder if it might be a phone problem or just a problem with the Eris.

Wes Do you use ANY apps/ Widgets/ Programs/ Live wallpapers that are using the GPS if you do then The location app will not have acess to your data Look into this as that was my problem as to why it would stop updating.

Thanks!
-Mike B.-
