• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Spotter Network activity movie for 4/24

That is a great movie! Kind of reminds me of that clip from a couple years back of the Fedex planes flying into Memphis, trying to fly around/beat the squall line that was also moving into the area.

Yeah, I was watching SN last night too. Not only was interesting to see people choosing their respective targets, but, it was also fun to see how long chasers were gonna hang with the N Kansas supercell.

My dad might have been one of those flying the plains. I never heard of this video. Where and when is it?

Dang it! I would love to watch that vid, but WMP says it is missing a codec (Vista). As I said in my report from last night, I swear it seems like every 30 minutes I found myself 5 miles NE of a new "hook". I wish I could watch myself getting chased clear across NE/KS all night long on there. I believe I'd be the one starting near McCook. I spent at LEAST 4 solid hours driving through 50+ mph gusts and blowing dust and tumbleweeds. No joke. It got old.

Bob - looks like you'll need the Xvid codec ... you can download it here: http://www.xvid.org/

I was also paying attention to the positioning last night. There were a lot of good choices, even in the bust zone. I had windows with most of the live feeds open together. All of them were entertaining, even the blue sky tour of Greensburg.

I'm impressed with how long people stuck with the Hill City storm ... I checked back really late (had to have been close to midnight), and there were still several chasers on it.

Google for the Xvid codec and you should find one. I'll get a wmv version on there too.

Note: The video resolution is too big for MPEG1 (1024x768)

That is funny. The Hill City storm makes me think of Pac Man for some reason.
