• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Not sure if this is the appropriate place for this, mods please move if it should be elsewhere.

Weather was perfect for viewing the eclipse tonight, crystal clear with brisk temps around 7 degrees. Attempted to snap a few pics and Im pleased with the way they turned out considering I have a bottom of the line camera.

The white "dots" are Saturn and the star Regulus

Just caught a glimpse through the thick low level clouds here in southern oklahoma.

Wasnt this the 3rd lunar eclipse in less than a year? I heard that this type of eclipse only happens once every thounsand years because of the way it is lined up with the brightest star in the constellation Leo and with Saturn forming a triangle.

Acts 2:20 (New King James Version)

The sun shall be turned into darkness,
And the moon into blood,
Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the LORD.

2/20/2008 hehe :)

Great photos. Could not see it here in Oklahoma because of the clouds. We are most likely going to have another ice storm tonight. Thanks for the pic. May I copy them off?

I took over 150 from start to finish. The first 1 hours was hit and miss with cloud cover and then the total and later parts were really clear. I will post some tomorrow once I get a chance to look at them close to see what I have. I have some strange green reflections I will be interested to see what they are. They were only visible once the total was over and it was starting to return to normal.

Good that someone got to see it. We had clouds in the Phoenix area, which usually allow for a glipse through the clouds every once in a while, but not tonight. Well, at least we got something unexpected in the Phoenix metro in February, a thunderstorm (actually, two separate ones 30 minutes apart) associated with this low pressure system that will deliver the ice storm/thunderstorms further east. In between the thunderstorms, I saw the moon, but it was after the eclipse (about 10:50 PM MST).

Not often you see a severe thunderstorm warning in Arizona this time of year either (that was near Prescott).

Great pics, Adam and Jason. Was sure a pleasure to watch it, although most of it was experienced from inside the car, as it was real cold here, too (-40 with wind chill).

Sure wish someone would design camera controls that can be manipulated by someone wearing gloves. Doing the manual focus thingy almost cost me my fingers.

Stinks that I missed it. All these telescopes and I get freezing rain. I did get a phone call from a friend in Philly and he said it was awesome and he's not even a astronut. I did see the one last year in Dubai UAE and i was like the only person who stepped out of the tent to watch it.

Great pictures Adam, Jason, John, and Mike. I spent a good portion earlier tonight out in the single digits freezing my butt watching it.

It was completely clear tonight in NW Ohio, but afterwards after looking back through my pictures I took of it, none of them really came out that great.

I was rather disappointed since I stood out in the freezing cold for most of the total eclipse and a good portion of the event leading up to and after the total. But, I'll guess I'll just have to wait until 2010 for my next opportunity at pictures of a total eclipse. Maybe I'll have a better camera then than I do now.
