There's the right way the wrong way and the NAVY way.
I think it's a great idea. It would have been better, I think, to have a few boats prepared for relief efforts a few hundred miles out from the hurricane (maybe near Houston, or Pensacola), so they could just sail right in after it made land fall. Then again they probably never knew it would be this bad.
