Scanner Frequencies

It can take a bit of sifting on your part to determine which frequencies might be useful, even more so if you life in a larger city/town, but I have found this site to be useful:

www.cityfreq.com

You can find the frequencies for your local utility companies, law enforcement, etc listed in many cases. There are also usually a good listening of other frequencies for a given location if you are interested in other activities on the airwaves.

The "rubber duckie" worked ok but does anyone have a recommendation for an external antenna for that model? Seems like with the rubber duckie it breaks up alot while driving. any suggestions??

I've always has good luck with the mag-mount "scanner" antennas from Radio Shack when using a scanner in a mobile environment. I've even used their thru-glass window mount, but the frequency range suffered a bit with the window mount.

If your local Radio Shack doesn't fill the bill, check out any ham radio supply stores available online.
