Rokinon Wide Angle Lenses?

anyone ever heard of or had any experience with a Rokinon lens? reviews? hearsay?

considering the price of wide angle lenses for canon (although I know the quality is superb), I'm half tempted to pick one of these up and give it a try. 8mm is incredible (12.8mm on my 7D crop frame), which still beats a 16-35mm, but not the 10-22.

Can't say I have any personal experience with any of their lenses, but just checked it out on B&H's site:

Seems to get pretty ratings from most of the reviewers. Looks like the only thing you're losing at the price is autofocus, but compared to a $900 Sigma I'd probably lean towards a manual focus.

awesome, thanks Mike, I don't use the autofocus much anyhow and I can't justify $900-$2000 to acquire a canon wide angle lens, especially considering it will get limited use as my last one did.

i searched flickr for some images from the 8mm rokinon and I'm impressed with it's quality. think this shall be my next acquisition this summer.

the reviews are good as well for both the canon and nikon version of it. everyone says it's pretty sharp and their pictures prove as stated. should work great for storm chasing pics taken during the day (or on a tripod at night) and car shows.
