PTT-HLC corridor?

Can somebody tell me what this acronym means? See a lot if these abbreviations in forecast threads - is there a reference source for these abbreviations?

I may be wrong but I believe PTT refers to Pratt, KS and HLC refers to Hill City, KS.

Pat is correct. When you see 3 capital letters or numbers in reference to a location (e.g. OKC, P28, ICT, TOP, DDC, GCK), it's typically either an airport code or a surface observing site code. Usually, even, the codes the same -- ASOS and AWOS stations are often located at airports.
