Panasonic Firewire ports

I use a 4 pin to 4 pin and it works just fine without my camcorder on outlet power.

One thing you need to seriously look at is if the metal in the port on the camera is not loose or coming out. I was having similar problems and it ruined my firewire port (for the time) because the metal came out (and sorry I'm not being more technical here other than metal ). What I did was just take it to my local camera repairman who got it fixed up for me. Just figured I'd air that possibility since no one else has mentioned it, hope it isn't the case though

Well Provantage sent the wrong cable (6-4) but this one doesn't work in my camera either.

So I'm hoping that it's either the PCMCIA card as I really don't want to repair my camera.

Great..it's the camera port. New cable doesn't work.

It's def the Firewire port; tried it on a different pc and got the same result. USB works fine though.

God this sucks...didn't even have it a week and it's broken.
