The logic of the article seems a little flawed... Suppose we had a nice west-coast trough right now... That would be like saying that we're going to see a very active tornado season if the trough stays in place through the next 3-4 months. Granted, the time scale of a longwave trough is on the order of a few days or a week, while the Bermuda High is longer, it still seems odd to say that the position of the High now my be an indicator of where it will be in 6 months...
