Sounds like a chaotic, disorganized, amateurish operation over there in the OK legislature.
After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.
I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.
For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.
From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.
Sincerely, Jeff D.
Spring Break! I thought only colleges do that. Maybe the OK legislators will flock down to St. George Island and have a "pow-wow" with the FL legislators...oh, God forbid (lol)...!!The Oklahoma Legislature is on spring break. Apparently it started this week, but I can't find any info on how long that lasts.
OK Legislature spring break looks to be over. They last convened on 3/18, and have not meet 3/19 - 3/23.The Oklahoma Legislature is on spring break. Apparently it started this week, but I can't find any info on how long that lasts.
Fetgatter has stated multiple times that this bill is a "two-year" project. It would not surprise me if he suspended the bill until the fall session, then re-introduced it. I believe the main issue right now is lack of support by the OHP and DOT. He might also be thinking he could gain support by using a tornado event in OK as evidence the bill is needed to save lives. Then again, since everyone is hyper-sensitive towards the driving antics of news crews, it could backfire if additional videos of bad behavior are posted this season. This bill is NOT going away. The concept is alive in OK and likley in other states. It's like an infectious disease just waiting to find a willing host.
All StormSpotters and Chasers operating in Oklahoma this year,I just got confirmation that their “Spring Break” was last week. Not sure why the calendar looks “empty” from tomorrow until Thursday. I expect that will be updated on an ongoing basis.
Regarding @Warren Faidley comments about this being a 2-year bill: I think that’s very possible. But that gives us time to mobilize even more effectively. I know I was caught off-guard by the quick movement of this bill in both House and Senate.
It went from “This is a bad bill that a Republican-controlled Legislature will laugh at” to “Holy Sh1t! What’s happening?”
My understanding is the Daily Activity Calendar is only updated at the end of each session day and is only for the next day (i.e. all you ever get is a single day). Although they seemed to wait to the last minute on today's - it wasn't posted at the end of the prior session day which was 3/19. I didn't see it until this morning and I looked Sunday. Not sure why the calendar looks “empty” from tomorrow until Thursday
I think I was more referring to the fact that the House General Calendar link for March 24 calendar was active on Friday but no link has yet been posted for tomorrow. Maybe after close of business today. Watch for it after beginning of December of this year.Correction: There is no fall session. I was just corrected. My mistake. It would need to be moved to next year.
I am confused. There are now at least 3 OK House calendar links:I think I was more referring to the fact that the House General Calendar link for March 24 calendar was active on Friday but no link has yet been posted for tomorrow. Maybe after close of business today. [shrugs]
Baffling us with BS/ the old Razzle-Dazzle?I am confused. There are now at least 3 OK House calendar links:
The House General Calendar page says this:
- The Daily Activity Calendar link I originally posted (Daily Floor Activities) still has only 3/19.
- The Daily Activity Calendar that @gdlewen posted (https://former.okhouse.gov/Documents/Daily Floor Activities.pdf) has today 3/24, but doesn't have HB 2426 on it.
- He also posted a House General Calendar link (House General Calendar - Oklahoma House of Representatives) but said HB 2426 wasn't on it. I just went to that link and clicked on today 3/24 (nothing past today on it) and it loads the following file: https://former.okhouse.gov/CalendarFiles/2025/2025_hcal27.pdf which now has for today 3/24 - "CS for HB 2426 − By Fetgatter of the House and Mann of the Senate." I assume "CS" means "committee substitute" (let's hope it doesn't mean "consent schedule"). My guess is HB 2426 was added after he looked.
"The House General Calendar is created in the Chief Clerk's office by the Calendar Clerk. This document is published each legislative day after the Chief Clerk's Office closes its desk for legislative business....Additionally, the House General Calendar lists what bills currently reside on General Order, meaning which bills and joint resolutions have been reported out of the standing committees. While this means that these bills are available to be scheduled for consideration by the full House, it does not necessarily mean these bills will be scheduled for a hearing on the House Floor."
So my hope is that that the Daily Floor Activities is still the one to watch.
My browser opens that link to 3/18 not 3/19. (I may need to clear my browser cache)

Daily Activity Calendar--matches your report. It was not on the agenda for today. I did not watch the video so I hope it did not come up in a surprise vote.
