Look at that area just rolling off Sierra Leone--that WILL form into a Hurricane, and will hit the USA.
Seriously!Yes indeed, it does look like garbage...
But hey, we do not have to go "overseas" for it ;-)
Seriously!
I owe my grandmother in Boca Raton a visit, so I was thinking I will chase this one if it becomes a hurricane-- even a crappy, Irene-type deal.
"Subtropical"? Yeah-- ugh. My least-favorite word in the English language.Good day all,
Irene in 1999 wasn't bad at 85 MPH plus...
Well, so much for the GFS advertised "major hurricane" ... FL is the poor man's hurricane chase territory of 2010.
BTW: Now I am hearing that creepy and all-to-familiar "S" word appearing on the upper-air forecasts now. Ugh.

Sodium?
With that kind of sprawling structure, it would have taken about two weeks to tighten up and become anything interesting. And we have Nicole. 11am advisory dropped all the FL warnings but with a trpoical storm windfield of 345 miles I think many people are glad that this didn't have more time over open water to develop further intensity.
