News item: Iowa sets record for tornadoes

DES MOINES, Iowa This year is one for the record books in Iowa -- for tornadoes.

The National Weather Service says 110 tornadoes have been spotted in the state in 2004. The previous record was 105 in 2001. Last year, it was only 28.

I'd like to see the 2004 tornado lists for Kansas and Nebraska. Oklahoma has had an average year with 54 tornadoes officially recorded so far this year. I'd imagine that number will be around 60-65 by year's end.
