Good Day, Eh!!
My name is Tanya, most people call me Trinity...it's a nickname that stuck over the years!! I am brand new to this fourm. I am from Nova Scotia, Canada, so as you can imagine, I see NO tornados :( and I have ALWAYS wanted to see one, better yet, I've always wanted to go storm chasing. I plan to go next spring, so I want to educate myself in meterology/severe weather which brings me here! I want to meet new people and learn how to chase safely. I am also keen on Photography so I would LOVE to get some great tornado and Lightning photos.
Also, being a nurse I feel that if/when I go out on a chase, I have the skills to help anyone medically who may have gotten caught in a storm.

But mainly I am joining this forum because I want to meet new, great folks who share a love for severe weather! Please feel free to message me and would love to make new friends!!

Hello Everyone, New Guy Here From Tuscaloosa

Hi everybody, my name is Mike and I found this site and thought it'd be nice to join. I'm one of the guys who had video used all over the place regarding the Tuscaloosa April 27th tornado. Here's my YouTube Channel, which I'm sure you've seen:

The rc boat videos are because that's another hobby of mine and the Honda Accord noise, well because it's darn hard to figure out...lol.

Anyways, I look forward to learning from this site and some day getting some storm spotter training of my own. Have a good Sunday.

Welcome to ST, Michael, and greetings from Huntsville.

I had seen your footage previiously while googling Tuscaloosa coverage. Glad you got through it okay.

Lots of good information and tons of experience here on the forum.

Thank you Dave for the warm welcome. Yes, I figure I'll learn a lot on slow days at work. :D

Hi!
My name is Joe Filakovsky, I live in coastal Connecticut and work for an emergency preparedness and disaster response organization affiliated with Yale. Our group deals with all variety of disaster preparedness including bioterrorism although increasing severe weather seems to be an increased focus. Most of our severe weather is of the winter variety although there has been a noticible increase in tornado activity in region. Having seen the real thing when I was in graduate school in St Louis, I have developed a healthy respect for their power and destructiveness.

Welcome to the forum Dr. Filakovsky and it was nice to meet you in our e-mail conversations over the last few days! We are more than happy to have you on board and hope you enjoy your stay and learn something new along the way.

Hi, my name is Lee Smith-Whaley. I've been chasing on and off for a few years with friends now, but have recently decided to get serious about it. So far, all I've seen and have proof of is a gustnado (2007), and a high based funnel(2011). I am hoping to learn a lot from this site (I've already learned a bit just lurking). I'm in the Air Force, so my chasing can be limited sometimes. I'm stationed at Whiteman AFB in MO which was luckily missed by the Sedalia tornado. This last year I missed the Sedalia tornado, St. Louis Tornado, the June 20th event, the Joplin tornado among a couple others due to being at work. I'm hoping this next spring to change that, by learning more, and being able to put in leave for a couple of chase-cations.

Welcome to Stormtrack Lee and we are glad to have you on board. There is a lot of excellent information here and especially if you search out the forum just about everything has been fleshed out at one time or another. It's a little slow here right now, but we are always glad to have a new member sign up and the energy you guys bring with you is infectious!

I've been here for a while never made many posts or introduced myself. From rural Lawrence County, Alabama currently working in the Air Force and stationed in Warner Robins, Georgia. Been chasing since I could drive and mainly in North Alabama, chased April 27, 2011 the EF5 that hit Hackleburg and moved up through Mount Hope, Athens, and Madison. After chasing on April 27th it has changed the way I chase and look at weather for the rest of my life. My chase vehicle is a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee and anywhere in the southeast is fair game for me to chase.

Hey everyone. I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Dave Trotter and I am in southern Illinois (not a fun place to be). I have been chasing for about 3 years. Most of the time I lived in Orlando and it was impossible to do any midwest chasing. Now I can. I have mostly been chasing in southern Illinois and parts of Missouri, Indiana and Kentucky. Now with three years under my belt, I am looking to expand out of that zone and make it to the plains in the coming months. I have talked to some of you on Facebook, but hopefully I will get to know more of you fairly soon. I am looking to take this to the next level and truly want to be part of the "community"!
