I've been rooting for years for K60F or K15F to come online, but I'm guessing it's never going to happen in my lifetime. Oh well.

I can tell you that some AWOS sites are not maintained by the FAA, but by TXDOT.

I wonder if 100 or 200 of us flood the ASOS program office with calls and letters if they'll put one there. I mean that's the INFLOW area for storms firing on the Texas Caprock between Guthrie and Wellington and we don't even have it sampled decently. We've got like 10 ASOS sites in Harris County already and nothing within 50 miles of Guthrie except some TTU sites.
