Chris Fleharty

I have been browsing for sometime now and just wanted to say, HI. This last year was my first year chasing storms. I came to this sight hopefully to tap into the vast amount of info and expertise that can be found on this site. I have been into to photography for about 14 months now and I love putting the two passions together. I could use all the help I can get. I would also like to get hooked up with some of the chasers in the area and learn even more from then (since up till now I have chased by myself using only my cell phone as a radar).

This was from my first chase close to Haxton, CO (03-28-07).

This was a couple of days later close to Ogallala, NE (04-02-07).

I'm not sure the max size of pictures so I'm hoping this one is not too big.

New to the forum, your first post ever and already you're posting pictures that put mine to shame... lol :D

Welcome aboard, those are some very amazing photographs you posted and can't wait to see more from you. What camera do you shoot with?

Thanks. That means a lot coming from a more experienced chaser.

I have two cameras. I have a Canon D30 with a 28-85mm f/3.5-5.6 and 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6, and Pentax K100d with a 17-70mm f/2.8-5.6. All those pictures that you see there are with the Canon... I forgot to add my pictures from my Pentax (my newer camera).

here's a few from my newer camera.

Thank you, but no I don't. I don't have any way of doing so. Even if I did... from my experence I haven't made much. I have given more pictures way than I have been able to sell.

Chris, welcome to the forum! You are definitely at the right place if you want to learn all you can about storm chasing. Like everyone else said, you have some wicked skills behind that camera of yours. If you have any questions, feel free to get in touch with myself or the other moderators. We would be glad to help you in any way that we can.

This is for another member here: Hollingshead, you better duck and run buddy because you have some serious competition on your hands! :-)

Chris, welcome! Those are some awesome pics!!!!!! You have a special talent there for sure. Feel free to ask any and all questions you may have. We're all here because of storms and we're all still learning and learning from each other as we go.

Hi Chris,
Welcome to Stormtrack, I'm a relatively new poster here too. Your photos are awesome. I'd certainly be interested in using some in the International Journal of Meteorology. Email or PM me...
I take a large amount of photos myself, mostly weather but rarely storms unfortunately so seeing yours has had me drooling :)
In fact today I've been photographing snow...yuk! :(
